Python and “the Nod”

Kathy Sierra writes about “The Nod” - the acknowledgement of another person’s good taste in making the same choices as you.
What does this have to do with programming languages? Programmers care deeply about language choice — How do python developers recognize each other? There should be an obvious signifier - like a laptop sticker. The guy on the train might be a MOT (Member of the Tribe), too.
I’ve looked around on cafepress and see a few, but they’re the old logo. I want a sticker with the new logo.
I agree. I never knew that Python stickers existed…I guess I will have to hunt for them now.
Hi Jeff,
I have hi-res vector and bitmap for the logo.. They are also available on the website at /community/logos.. Is higher res than this needed? (I know you’ve mailed me too, I’ll respond there as well)
Thanks Tim!
I have a 4″ logo on the back of my laptop. Just a color printout of the large logo. A couple minutes with an exacto knife and a little packing tape to attach it. I added it as a flag to raise when I was going to a sprint and I knew there were a few other people on the same flight but I didn’t know what they looked like.
why would you want the new logo? isn’t the sticker even better if it’s old-skool, distressed such that it looks like you might have first put it on in 1995?
My laptop’s a 2006 (silver Thinkpad), so I don’t think an old skool sticker would be credible
Plus I just like the new logo a lot better than the dot-matrixy previous version.
