A great article in the Register lists ways Windows disregards the users’ needs:
- Restarting the computer, closing open documents without saving - despite changing prefs to prevent this.
- Modal dialogs pop up after an IE download finishes; user keystrokes go to the dialog and close the window.
The bit about popping windows is huge. My favorite peeve is how a menu selection gets interrupted by a popup from another application. Sheesh. Didn’t they learn anything from Apple?
